Osho said that Ego is not an existential thing in this universe. It is absent in this universe. Ego is just a belief. It is the absence of self knowledge. When one cannot connect with oneself, one doesn’t know who s/he is then ego arises. People say sacrifice your ego. Osho said that Ego cannot be sacrificed as it doesn’t exist. He said that whenever ego arises, one has to locate it. No need to go against ego, no need to repress it. One needs to dive deep to find it. Once you find it, dive deep within you, dive to the core, you will find only egolessness. You will find godliness. Ego falls off automatically when you find yourself. There is no need to drop or sacrifice ego. Once you understand ego, ego automatically disappear.
